AccountAccount
[Female, brindle, not cat or small dog friendly]

If Account could be any happier, she'd wag her tail right off! The joy and exuberance of this sweet girl are contagious. She smiles and prances, plays with toys and gazes adoringly at any person who takes a moment to pet her. Whatever lucky home that Account goes to should be free of cats and small dogs though, because she will attempt to put them in her belly. If Account is to be an only dog, her family should plan to lavish her with attention because she is very affectionate. She would love to have a greyhound buddy to hang around with, so if you need a second dog, give this precious girl a look.

Buzz and LucyBuzz and Lucy

No, you're not seeing double but you are seeing littermates. Buzz (left) and Lucy are a brother and sister team -- tightly bonded and devoted to one another. Both are incredibly well-mannered, lovable and sweet. Lucy (Lrc Lucy) sets the standard for being a gently affectionate, people-oriented lady. Buzz (HM Buzzer / Hm's Buzz -- for some reason, he's listed twice on greyhound-data.com) is a happy and loving soul -- a bit more focused on his sister than on humans, but he vibrates with happiness when he gets hugged and petted. He especially likes to celebrate your arrival home by exuberantly grabbing and playing with his toys. They are experts at making a house feel like a home. GPA-CT would prefer to keep this pair together.

Hawk
[Male, light brindle, 7 years old, possibly cat and small dog workable)

HawkHawk (Gj's Black Hawk) is a victim of the tough economy. After more than five years with his guardian, who is giving him up with a heavy heart, he needs a new home. Hawk is laid back, sweet, and wants to be petted and scratched. He's a big (over 80 lbs.), tall guy with a gorgeous light brindle coat and he chatters his teeth when happy. He's been well cared for and greatly loved, and we want the best home for this beautiful boy. He crates well, naps frequently, and enjoys an occasional romp, but Hawk does need a little brushing up on his potty skills. It's likely that stress has contributed to his backsliding. A belly band will go a long way toward helping with this, and we know he can master housetraining with routine and encouragement. This is a beautiful, loving dog who would be a great addition to a quiet or moderately active home.

KayKay
[Female, white with red ticking, 6 years old, not cat or small dog friendly]

Kay (Y Knot Blazinkay) is a very sweet female that loves attention. It took a little while, but now she gets along great with her foster siblings. Kay is somewhat bossy and would do well as an only dog. Her foster mom feels she would really blossom with some one-on-one bonding with her own personal human. Kay is definitely not cat, small dog or squirrel friendly. She has mastered the doggie door and the stairs off the deck. She's learning about toys and loves to go on walks around the neighborhood and for rides in the car. She's very friendly and loves meeting new people.

KingsleyKingsley
[Male, red, 6 years old, not cat friendly]

Kingsley is a gorgeous red boy with a petite little face. He loves, loves, loves attention any way he can get it -- hugs, kisses, scratches, pats, sweet-talking -- you name it, he eats it all up! He especially loves to snuggle up in bed with his foster parents. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, but can be a bit pushy when he wants attention. (He tends to push the other dogs out of the way to get to his humans.) He’s very active and can play rough, so children over age 10 would be best.

NemoNemo
[Male, dark brindle, 4.5 years old]

Nemo (WAM Nero) came in to the GPA-CT adoption program several months ago but due to a lack of foster homes, he has been living at Dog Camp. Consequently, we don't know a great deal about him, other than he loves coming to meet & greets and his tail rarely stops wagging. Nemo came to GPA-CT after the Corpus Christi track closing. He raced at Corpus Christi from August 2005-November 2007, where he amassed 150 races and 21 first-place finishes.

RafaRafa
[Male, 3 years old, not small animal friendly]

Rafa is one of the most affectionate hounds his foster mom has ever met. He loves attention and he makes sure that you are always within his reach for some lovin'. He's not a velcro dog, he's a super-glue dog! One look into his gorgeous amber eyes and you'll be smitten. He stares back lovingly into your eyes whenever you look at him. Rafa has numerous scars that tell of a rough past, but he is just the sweetest guy. He walks perfectly on lead and loves a ride in the car. He is very physical and does lean into anyone who comes near him. He also has a tendency to jump when excited, so small children in his forever home may not be ideal since they may be inadvertently knocked down. Rafa is great with other medium to large dogs, but he does fancy himself an alpha. He doesn't seem to know how to play with smaller dogs so may be best as an only dog or with a female. Small squeaky critters are just too tempting for Rafa. If you have room on your sofa and in your heart for this loverboy, you will be worshipped by a hound unlike any other.

Raj
[Male, white with black/ticking, 6 years old, not cat or small dog friendly]

RajOur regal Raj (Black Eyed Spot) is slowly learning that living out of dumpsters in Manor is a thing of the past. He loves his food, and is coming to the realization that food comes at regular intervals now and maybe he doesn't have to eat so fast! He stills likes to "hunt" in the kitchen for food and is his foster mom's best kitchen cleanup helper! Raj loves to go for walks but is having to learn the proper leash etiquette. He wants to smell everything and go everywhere, but is getting better about following the lead. He is a complete lover boy who has realized that his foster mom is a pushover and will rub him and give him hugs and kisses just about as often as he wants, and he wants a lot of love! Our beautiful Raj needs a forever family that will be very patient with him and help him to learn that he is worth being completely spoiled rotten!

Ranger
[Male, red, 6 years old, cat workable, small dog safe)

RangerRanger is coming into adoption for the same reason his housemate Hawk is -- hard times. Also much loved by his guardian, Ranger is an exuberant and active boy who loves to play. He first came to GPA-CT as a half-grown stray, and he's grown into a beautiful 60 lb. dog. Ranger needs an Emily Post-house-manners-refresher course about what's chewable and collectible and what's not, but he is responsive, food motivated, and sociable, as well as crate trained. Although Ranger barks at the cats in his house, he once lived contentedly with four felines, so we think he'd adjust with some guidance and supervision. He loves kids and grown-ups alike, and his very favorite thing is a ride in the car. Road trip, anyone?
